Energy from Waste / CHP and District Heating

Frith RM has worked extensively with a local authority District Heating scheme linked to an energy from waste plant in the UK. This has included support on contract negotiations, development of a business plan and project management of other contractors undertaking technical feasibility studies and modelling.

Frith RM has updated the Defra waste Incineration guide as part of a suite of documents for Government (available online here). Paul is a long standing member of the CIWM thermal treatment steering group, either in capacity as secretary or member since 1997, and one of the authors for the ISWA award winning ‘Energy from Waste A good practice guide’ (2003).

Cherie has assessed the technical performance of existing and proposed Energy from Waste facilities as technical due diligence on behalf of the project funders. She has also provided technical advice to energy from waste and MBT contractors bidding for municipal waste management contracts, reviewing their proposed solutions against the contract requirements. In addition she has researched the feasibility of Energy from Waste pre-treatment technology for a developer and has supported local authority clients in residual waste treatment selection through option appraisal, business case development and the provision of procurement technical advice.

Frith RM provide guidance, training and documentation on waste treatment technology, including EfW and Advanced Thermal Treatment to national Governments in a range of Countries.
