All consultants at Frith RM are experienced in carrying out Options Appraisals. Different waste treatment, disposal, recycling, composting, reuse and waste prevention options are appraised in both qualitative and quantitative terms to determine their relative cost, performance and environmental implications. Options appraisal forms the basis for waste management decisions and therefore operational planning, Business Case development and Municipal Waste Management Strategy development.
We are trained and experienced in the use of the WRATE Life Cycle Assessment software tool for the determination of environmental impacts. Frith RM is an Expert Licence holder of the software, allowing us to carry out detailed and bespoke assessments or peer review using WRATE.
Frith RM is also experienced in the use of the KAT model to determine collection costs and performance. This is an important aspect of local authority service reviews and allows the assessment of the impact of efficiency measures.
Through using recognised industry tools with a detailed knowledge of their applications, we offer a robust options appraisal process that can be formulated to support decision making in service delivery.
The modelling tools are only one part of the options appraisal activity. A rigorous method of planning, criteria selection, consultation and evaluation techniques are all important to present a clear analysis and conclusion.
