Waste Strategy

A complete Municipal Waste Management Strategy (MWMS) service is provided by Frith Resource Management which is a leading consultancy in this field in the UK. A MWMS is increasingly seen as 'resource management strategy' or ‘zero waste strategy’ as local authorities seek to reduce environmental impacts, recover materials and energy from waste, whilst maximising environmental benefits.

Developing a new or ‘revised’ Municipal Waste Management Strategy is a substantial task and Frith RM has a track record of delivering such projects to a high standard and in different local authority contexts. Strategy ‘updates’ are usually more appropriate for smaller changes, and Frith RM has supported this activity in a 'critical friend' role and developed the SEA screening process for such projects on several occasions. This is a specialist area and requires careful consideration in the light of the Environmental Assessment of Programmes and Plans Regulations.

Frith RM has been a lead or sole consultancy supporting the delivery of 7 Municipal Waste Management Strategy reviews or updates over the past five years. Paul was a lead author on a further 5 strategies in previous consultancies prior to the establishment of Frith RM, and Cherie supported the development or update of other UK and overseas strategies prior to joining Frith RM.
