We’ve been busy.

Strategy work very much suits us, as we enjoy getting involved in stakeholder workshops, we dig getting into the numbers for waste growth projections and options appraisals, we are curious about best practice and practical case studies, and we are endlessly informed by analysing public consultation responses! Plus we enjoy writing documents that are accessible and help move Council services forward to meet the challenges of new environmental and waste policy.

In short, the whole team enjoy doing them. That isn’t to say they are easy, and whilst it can be challenging, notably on joint strategies between multiple Councils (15 Local Authorities in one partnership strategy is our record at the moment!), the main thing is to listen and find consensus – these strategies are there to guide future direction, a hook to hang service changes on, a set of objectives to steer procurement activity and some key targets and actions to focus next steps and the long term goals.

We are probably the leading consultancy in England in this specialism, and all our strategies have been adopted at the first attempt.
