Frith Resource Management are proud to support environmental charities and projects. Over the years we have been involved in a number of local projects in and around our wonderful hometown of Bridgnorth, including support to prevent pointless plastic, promote water refill stops and we have even taken part in the town’s 22-mile charity walk for charities including WasteAid and Action for Children!

As part of this year’s #PlasticFreeJuly, community environmental charity Sustainable Bridgnorth are organising a virtual conference ‘A Wasteless Britain?’ which will bring together speakers from across the waste and recycling sector to provide an update on the exciting opportunities which are taking place at both a national and local level.

FRM Director, Paul Frith, will be speaking at the event providing an overview of the history of waste management, explaining where we’ve come from and our journey to present day. To provide some local context, Angela James from Veolia will discuss what happens to the waste and recycling from across Shropshire.

They will also be joined by Chair of the Environment Audit Committee (and local MP), Phillip Dunne, to discuss the upcoming Government policy reforms which aim to reduce waste, encourage waste prevention and reuse, and increase recycling levels and Hannah Osman of Refill Wales will discuss some of the exciting developments for the refill and reuse sector.

We will also be making our own plastic free pledges and across the team will be trialing (and reviewing) our own pledges, including the use of toothpaste tabs and natural refill, or plastic-free, deodorant.

In some areas we are already refill converts! We fuel the team in the office using supplies from our refill shops, and over the last year as the FRM team have adapted to home working, FRM have been providing bulk containers for household necessities such as washing up liquid and bulk deliveries of tea – very important I’m sure you’ll agree!
